Results of the regional tournament of Kazakhstan Athletics Special Olympiad, dedicated to International Children's Day

On May 23, 2023, in Ust-Kamenogorsk city, O. Rypakova Track and Field Center hosted the regional tournament of Kazakhstan Athletics Special Olympics.

The key goal of the tournament is to promote the Special Olympic Movement; involving new athletes with intellectual disabilities in sports, their socialization and integration into society.  

The competition was attended by the teams of Medical and Social Institutions (MSI) and special schools - 64 athletes of 12-15 years of age, 16-21 years of age. The tournament was held in accordance with the Sports Rules of Special Olympics Inc in the following disciplines: running; standing long jump; pitching and relay race.

According to the results of the competition, the winners are:

Among children of 12-15 years of age:

   I place - the team of Special Boarding School No. 7, Ridder town;

   II place - the team of Special Boarding School No. 8, Ust-Kamenogorsk city;

   II place - the team of Special Boarding School No. 1, Altai district;

   III place – the team of Special School, Ust-Kamenogorsk city;

   IV place - the team of Center for Children Support with Special Educational Needs, Altai district.  

Among children of 16-21 years of age:

   I place - the team of Center for Children Support with Special Educational Needs, Altai district;

   II place - the team of Youth Centre of Ust-Kamenogorsk city;

   III place - the team of Special Boarding School No. 8 of Ust-Kamenogorsk city.

The teams that took І, ІІ, ІІІ places were awarded diplomas, the players received medals of the corresponding degrees.
