Advanced experience in teaching German

A teacher is a creator, because they create a person. What kind of person he/she will be, what will he or she leave behind - this is the result of the teacher's professional path. The teacher is a mission. They should provide a basis for life equipping each child in an accessible and high-quality manner with valuable knowledge with which they could become accomplished as human beings.

Today, we present one more material as part of a series of publications about the best experience of teachers of languages of the region in 2023. It is about Yulia L. Boyarkina, a German teacher, deputy headmaster for foreign languages of School-Gymnasium No. 12 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, a teacher-researcher.

For 30 years, Yulia Leonidovna has been keeping up with the times, keeping her finger on the pulse and constantly improving, looking for new ways of development. Research and project activities, participation in competitions - all this is an integral part of her work.

She believes that the most important quality of a teacher is optimism, there are no hopeless situations and there are no obstacles that cannot be overcome. May it be not immediately, but slowly with a smile on your face, you need to move forward through life. This is what she tries to teach her children. Much depends on the mood the teacher comes with to the lesson. The more positive emotions, the easier it is to get learners interested. It is very important to feel the child, respect them, respect their opinions, build your work in such a way that children do not feel strict control over themselves and at the same time constantly feel the support of the teacher.

In order to achieve high results, she uses in her teaching activities such advanced technologies as Passov's communication technology, ICT, the project method, integrates the ideas of the 7th Modular Cambridge Program, which allow her to most effectively achieve predicted results, providing the necessary conditions for organizing the cognitive and speech activity of each learner. Moreover, she uses gaming technologies that allow her to carry out not only search work, but also the everyday work of schoolchildren.

It is quite natural that foreign language lessons qualitatively differ from' other school disciplines’ lessons, they have their own characteristics arising from the specifics of the subject itself, and these specifics cannot be ignored by a foreign language teacher.

Yulia Leonidovna is constantly working to improve her professional competence. She completed a one-year internship in Germany (Stuttgart), as well as repeated short-term refresher courses in the cities of Petropavlovsk, Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Sudak (Russia), Dornach (Switzerland), Kassel (Germany), Göppingen (Germany).

She is the mentor of the internship of students of EKSU and KAFU, as well as a member of the jury of Subject Olympiads in the German language, a developer and expert of examination materials for the final certification of the 9th graders of educational organizations of East Kazakhstan region. She is an approbator and expert of German textbooks of Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Expertise of Education Content.

Her learners took part in the International Journalism Competition and the articles by Yulia Leonidovna's learners about ecology were published in German in the Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (published in the countries of Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan). In the Republican Video Competition, the work of her learner Alizhan Askarov won a prize and was presented at the Republican Congress of Teachers of the German Language. In 2022, 4 schoolchildren successfully passed the International C1 Language Exam - DSD II in German. The results of 3 of her schoolchildren entered the top 10 in Kazakhstan, taking 1, 2 and 6 places. Two of them won the competition and will continue their studies in Germany.

In conclusion, it is worth noting note that Yulia Leonidovna directs all her experience to help her learners reach their potential, educating the highly qualified specialists as she is and giving a piece of her soul to each child.

She was awarded the Certificate of Honour of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
