Regional Competition “Best Mentor – 2023”

A mentor is a teacher of a secondary education organization who has practical experience in teaching, possessing the best teaching methods, innovative teaching technologies and provides mentoring.

The regional competition “Best Mentor – 2023” started on April 27, 2023. The regional round of the competition was attended by 8 teachers-mentors and, who first started teaching in the 2022-2023 school year, 8 young teachers from district and city educational organizations.

The competition is aimed at identifying the best practices of pedagogical mentoring, activating and improving the efficiency of teachers-mentors in the educational organizations of the region, creating conditions for the adaptation of young teachers in order to secure them in the education system.

Participants provided portfolios confirming the results of mentoring activities and video materials demonstrating the process of mentoring. At the full-time regional round, the contestants showed a master class “I'm an expert and I will teach another ones”, where a teacher-mentor demonstrates methodological methods of working with a young teacher, and young teachers presented a video recording of their pedagogical ideas “I study and apply”, using practical experience given by the teacher-mentor.

According to the results of the regional competition, the commission named the winners:

I place - School-Lyceum of Altai town of Education Department of Altai town Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region;

II place - N. Ostrovsky Kurchum Secondary School No. 4 of Education Department of Kurchum district of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region;

III place - Arshatinskaya Secondary School of Education Department of Katon-Karagai district of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region.
