Roundtable “Organization of an educational, sports and leisure route for children with ASD”

On April 7, 2023, Center (Autism-Center) for Supporting Children with Autism (Autism Spectrum Disorder) of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held a roundtable on the topic “Organization of an educational, sports and leisure route for children with ASD”, as part of a month dedicated to the World Autism Awareness Day (April, 2).

The event was attended by more than 30 teachers of regional educational institutions and the methodologist of Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region A.K. Kubentayeva.

G.O. Boshakova, a chief expert of Custody, Guardianship and Boarding Institutions Department welcomed the participants of the event.

During the roundtable, experts of the Autism Center - V.M. Tarasova and G.G. Amantayeva presented a draft algorithm of actions for obtaining educational, sports and leisure services for children with ASD;

Acting Director of the Autism Center D.A. Dyusembinova spoke about the activities of the Center and about international modern methods and technologies for working with children with ASD, which have proven their effectiveness;

Professor, Candidate of Psychological Sciences of S. Amanzholov EKU S.A. Stelmakh made a presentation “Roadmap for Inclusive Education Development in Organizations of Higher and Postgraduate Education for 2023-2025” and focused on the projects implemented by universities.

Moreover, the event was attended by a mother of a special child, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Vestnik Kazzinc V.S. Voyevoda, who shared her experiences and achievements.

Following the event, the participants made a tour of the Center and delivered feedback, received answers to their questions and thanked the organizers noting the relevance of the event.
