Results of East Kazakhstan regional team’s participation in Kalkan Republican Winter Sports Olympics among pupils of Zhas Sarbaz Republican Children's and Youth Military-Patriotic Movement

On 21-25 February, 2023, the team of East Kazakhstan region took part in Kalkan Republican Winter Sports Olympics among pupils of Zhas Sarbaz Republican Children's and Youth Military-Patriotic Movement to be hosted by the Training Center of the Central Sports Club of the Sports Committee of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan (a branch in Panfilov settlement of Almaty region).

The key objectives of the Olympics are:

- military-patriotic education of teenagers;

- improving the military service image;

- promoting physical training and sports as an important means of personal training, education and harmonious development;

- instilling the feelings of mutual assistance and friendly support in adolescents;

- promoting healthy lifestyles.

Contest program:

- 3 km ski race;

- air rifle shooting from;

- pull-ups;

- lifting the body from a supine position.

17 teams from all regions of Kazakhstan took part in the Olympics.

In the team events, the EKR team took the 6th place.

Danil E. Proskuryakov took the 2nd place in singles among the IV age group with a score of 178 points.

The solemn awarding ceremony of the participants took place in the Army House of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Well-known athletes - Olympic Champion Olga Rypakova and a bronze medalist of the World Champion, a judoist Gusman Kyrgyzbayev congratulated the pupils of Zhas Sarbaz Republican Military-Patriotic Movement on the completion of the contests.
