REGIONAL PRACTICAL WORKSHOP
On February 17, 2023, Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, as part of the annual plan, held a regional practical workshop on the topic “Forming functional literacy as a main condition for learners’ development in Mathematics and Science.”
The goal of the workshop is to exchange the experience of teachers of School-Center of Additional Education No. 19 on the use of modern pedagogical technologies in the educational process to form the functional literacy of learners in Mathematics and Science, as well as to provide methodological support to teachers of the region.
The methodologists of District and City Education Departments, heads of Associations and 55 teachers of Mathematics and Science took part in the regional practical workshop.
In accordance with the program of the workshop, the first part demonstrated the lessons of the following teachers of Mathematics and Science of School-Center of Additional Education No. 19 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city:
Teachers of mathematics A. S. Bulashko on “Linear inequality with one variable. Solution of linear inequalities with one variable”, A. V. Pestelnyak “Area of quadrilaterals and triangles”;
A teacher of biology M. V. Ponomareva “Interaction of allelic genes: complete and incomplete dominance of traits. Analysis of the Crown Knot and its practical significance”.
A teacher of chemistry O. V. Ochkina on “The relationship between the types of chemical bonds and types of crystal lattice”;
A teacher of geography O.S. Zinovyeva and a teacher of physics S. V. Kopeikina presented an integrated lesson on “Flora and fauna of the native land. A visiting card of my region.
The 2nd part of the event presented the following master classes:
A methodologist in biology, chemistry of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk N. T. Kapchikova “Forming functional literacy in chemistry”,
Head of Local History Scientific Ecotourism Department of Training and Research Ecobiocenter of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region E.N. Kulikova “Local history aspect of scientific design while forming schoolchildren's functional literacy”.
Within the framework of the workshop, a teacher of mathematics V.V. Petrova made a report “From the experience of teachers of Mathematics and Science on implementing the formalization of functional literacy in a classroom”, familiarized with the results of the work. Following the event, during feedback, the participants exchanged their views, noted the efficiency and importance of the event. Methodical recommendations are given.
