Results of online workshop “Conducting the final evaluation of the 9th graders in the 2022-2023 school year in mathematics, geometry, physics, computer science”
On February 9, 2023, Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held an online workshop on preparing materials for the final evaluation of the 9th graders in the 2022-2023 school year in mathematics, geometry, physics, computer science.
The goal is to familiarize with the requirements on how to develop examination material for the final evaluation of basic secondary education.
The online workshop was attended by 23 teachers who are members of the working groups in mathematics, geometry, physics, computer science.
A methodologist of Learning Content and Education Quality Monitoring Unit of Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region A.Kh. Zhelpakova acquainted the listeners of the workshop with the instructions on the procedure for conducting the final evaluation of the 9th graders in secondary education institutions, and explained the Order No. 125.
She explained the specifications for the preparation of tasks for the final evaluation in algebra and geometry, covering the content of the standard curriculum of these subjects for grades 7-9, in physics, computer science - for the 5th-9th graders of the level of basic secondary education, showed examples of tasks for the final evaluation: for a general education school, for gymnasiums/lyceums, specialized schools, for special institutions, special grades and groups in accordance with the scoring scheme.
The members of the working group noted the practical significance of tasks development by types of institutions for training of learners enabling to shape key competencies as part of the education content.
A.Kh. Zhelpakova gave recommendations on how to use tasks for the final evaluation during formative and summative assessments, as well as how to develop and implement such tasks in each lesson, and to use similar tasks in SAU and SAT.
