Regional practical workshop “Ways to form functional literacy of primary schoolchildren”

Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region jointly with East Kazakhstan regional branch of Orleu National Center for Professional Development JSC of Professional Development Institute held a practical workshop called “Ways to form functional literacy of primary schoolchildren”.

The goal of the workshop is to provide methodological support to primary school teachers, to get acquainted with the experience of primary school teachers of Sh. Ualikhanov School-Lyceum No. 3.

At the opening of the event, Acting Director of Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region Gulmira S. Jakupova welcomed the participants of the workshop and wished them fruitful work.

In the plenary part of the workshop, a senior lecturer of Preschool and Primary Education Department of East Kazakhstan regional branch of Orleu National Center for Professional Development JSC of Professional Development Institute Ardak N. Kasenova made a presentation on “Funkzionaldyk sauattylyk bilim berudin sapasy retinde”.

Maira D. Zhagykpanova, deputy headmaster for educational affairs of Shokan Ualikhanov School-Lyceum No. 3, made a report on the topic “Bastauysh synyp okushylarynyn funkzionaldyk sauattylygyn kalyptastyru”.

Farida T. Temirgaliyeva, a teacher-researcher, a primary school teacher of Zhubandyk Bolganbayev Samar Secondary School-Lyceum of Samar district, presented an experience on the topic “Bastauysh synyp okushylarynyn oku mashygyn zhetildiru”.

According to the program of the workshop, primary school teachers of Sh. Ualikhanov School-Lyceum No. 3 T.A. Kurmanova, Zh.M. Failova, A. Argynbek, B.A. Kobykbayeva, S. Olzhabai showed the methods of developing functional literacy in open classes.

The following master classes were presented at the expert site: M.D. Zhagykpanova, Zh.S. Amisultanova, Z.D. Duisenbekova on “Forming functional literacy of learners with the gamification method”; Z.A. Jandaralova, A.A. Makhmutova on “The efficiency of the lesson study method to develop learners’ functional literacy (Lesson Study)”; A.A. Kobykbayeva, A.B. Bakytkanova held master classes on the topic “Peculiarities of using design technology in education in elementary school”.

During the pitch session, primary school learners presented a scientific project on forming functional literacy of schoolchildren.

During feedback, the participants expressed their opinion and suggested holding future workshops.
