Results of the I Republican Psychological Forum “Identifying and developing schoolchildren’s abilities and giftedness”

The Academy of Elbasy Foundation of Astana city hosted the 1st Republican Psychological Forum-Workshop called “Identifying and developing schoolchildren’s abilities and giftedness”, as part of implementing the El Umiti Initiative, in order to address modern systems of psychological and pedagogical methods related to the identification, support and development of children's abilities and talents.

The speakers of the first part of the plenary session of the Workshop were the Chair of the Committee for Children's Rights Protection of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Ospanova, the Deputy Executive Director of the First President's Foundation Alkey Margulanuly, as well as the famous authors of diagnostic methods of abilities based on key competencies of the 21st century – 4C - scientific candidates, professors of psychological sciences.

The second part of the Workshop included the following sections.

In the section for workers of the Regional Qabilet Services and psychologists, the teacher-psychologist of the Qabilet Service of Daryn East Kazakhstan Scientific and Methodological Center for Gifted and Additional Education Development Zh.E. Bairova made a report and presentation, highlighting the “Efficiency of Qabilet Service” in East Kazakhstan region.

Since the beginning of the project, 20,146 learners aged 10-11 have been tested in East Kazakhstan region, 34 children who scored over 70 points have passed the second stage of diagnostics.

The authors of the methods, trainers of the Qabilet Service project conducted thematic trainings and master classes for educational psychologists of the Regional Qabilet Services and school psychologists of Kazakhstan.
