Regional Scientific and Practical Conference “A school is named in his honour”
On September 28, 2022, Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held a Regional Scientific and Practical Conference, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of poet, scientist, translator, teacher, public figure Mukhtar Auezov. It took place on the basis of M. Auezov School No. 17 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region in order to exchange experience in studying the pedagogical heritage of the great educator and improving the implementation of his ideas in the modern education system.
The event was attended by the faculty of universities, heads, deputy heads of secondary education institutions, classroom teachers, primary school teachers.
The Conference opened with an excursion to the school museum of the writer, and a stage performance by high school students “Through the pages of the novel by M. Auezov “Abai’s Way”, a musical performance by primary school learners.
In the plenary part of the Scientific and Practical Conference, Deputy Director of Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region G.Z. Abetayeva welcomed the participants of the event and wished them fruitful work. Headmaster of M. Auezov Secondary School No. 17 E.A. Saakyan briefed on the history of the school and its naming after the writer, about the events held at the school in honor of the 125th anniversary of M. Auezov, congratulated the participants of the event.
The speakers of the plenary section were:
Senior Lecturer of Kazakh, Russian Philology and Journalism Department of S.Amanzholov EKU N.N. Budnikova on “Features of the Turkic language picture of the world in the works of M. Auezov”;
A teacher of Kazakh language and literature of Zhambyl Regional Specialized Boarding School-Gymnasium for Gifted Children of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region M.K. Mukasheva “M.Auezovtin “Abai Zholy Roman-Epopeyasy” okytudyn adistemesi”;
Deputy headmaster for educational affairs of M.Auezov Secondary School No. 17 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region G.F. Abdrakhmanova “Mukhtar Auezov’s heritage in the educational work of a modern school”;
An English teacher A. V. Gabitova “The novel “Abai’s Way” by M. Auezov in the project “Reading School”.
The work of the Conference continued in two sections “Pedagogical mastership based on the works of M. Auezov” and “The nature of the humanistic idea in the heritage of M. Auezov.”
In the work of this section, teachers exchanged experience in fostering students' moral values through the works of M. Auezov, using methods and techniques of active learning using the example of the writer's works, developing writing skills; psychological trainings were held with teachers in the practical part of the Conference.
During feedback, teachers shared their views and noted the efficiency of the event.
The speakers of the Conference were awarded letters of thanks, the participants - certificates.
Following the outcomes of the Scientific and Practical Conference, an electronic book will be published and posted on the educational portal of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region.
