NIS teachers and learners received copyright certificates for their inventions and science works

The beginning of 2020 for the branch of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics of Semey city of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools began with good news. A physics teacher Askhat Sovetkhanovich Zhumabekov received a certificate for his author's work dedicated to new approaches in teaching and learning, as well as methods for teaching physics at school.

- The most important factor in the successful formation of solid knowledge in physics is the development of the educational and cognitive enthusiasm of learners in the classroom, which is achieved by the intellectual and emotional preparation of learners for the perception of new educational material. Currently, schools are faced with the task of forming a new leader of the 21st century and increasing his creative activity. I believe that the task of teachers is to liberate the student’s thinking and increase the coefficient of their usefulness”, says Askhat Sovetkhanovich.

Learners of the 11th grade Kadesov Bek and Rymkan Ulisher received certificates for their author's work and photographs dedicated to the study of the structure of gold nanoparticles for using in oncotherapy. The school students went to this for almost a year and a half. This research work was carried out with the aim of finding an alternative to conventional means of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. As a result of a series of experiments, gold nanoparticles of the correct spherical shape were obtained, which are used for medical purposes. To achieve this goal, various stabilizers, methods for producing and detecting gold nanoparticles were studied at the laboratories of Shakarim State University of Semey city, D.Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State University and the branch of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics, Semey city of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.

“The students did a great job.” In order to study the structure of the obtained gold nanoparticles, experiments were carried out using spectrometry and transmission electron microscopy to reveal the morphology of particles and their sizes. A rather lengthy step was the study of literature and sources in the direction. To achieve this goal, students studied physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology and computer modeling. This study promotes therapies in oncology and interdisciplinarity at STEAM. The use of gold nanoparticles is demonstrated by computer modeling. In the future, it is planned to test gold nanoparticles on sections of cancer cells. For this, it is planned to conclude a memorandum with the Research Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology of Semey city. We want to express our deep gratitude for the support to our school, the parents of school students, our scientific consultant A. Klivenko - PhD, Senior Lecturer of Shakarim State University of Semey city, Jess A.V. - chief lecturer of D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State University”, says the project supervisor Askhat Zhumabekov.

The annual final round of the republican competition of scientific projects was held by Daryn Republican Research Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty city from February, 11 to February 14, 2020. These days, students of our school Kadessov Bek and Rymkan Ulisher, Seytkaliev Ulan and Sabigaliyev Alisher are participating in the final round of the Republican Competition of scientific projects “Daryn”. At the final round of the Competition, 751 young researchers will present 590 scientific projects.
