Road to School campaign started all over the East Kazakhstan region

On August 1, 2022, the Republican campaign entitled “Road to School” started in Kazakhstan. This year, it is held as part of implementing the Year of Children, declared by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The nationwide campaign is taking place from August, 1 till September 30, 2022 under the motto “Road to school - Good without borders!”. “The goal of the campaign is to provide material support to schoolchildren from low-income and large families, orphans, as well as children left without parental care. It is held when children are preparing for the start of the school year in order to prevent children from dropping out of school for social reasons. To implement this campaign, the Ministry of Education has developed the Concept for holding the Republican campaign “Road to School”.

To date, Akimat of East Kazakhstan region has approved a plan of regional events for organizing and conducting the nationwide charitable campaign called “Road to School”. Also it formed the regional headquarters of the campaign.

The following charitable events will be organized in districts and cities: “Do children good!”, “School gifts for country children”, “Family will help family: Let's get the child to school!”.

The campaign will call on entrepreneurs, patrons, government agencies to assist in the events and make a feasible contribution to helping families and children in difficult situations, as well as help find their way to school. It should be noted “This school year, more than 95,000 schoolchildren will sit at desks in 342 schools, including more than 21,000 ones will receive support within the framework of Universal Education. For 2022, the regional budget has allocated the necessary funding in the amount of KZT 1.9 billion, including for the purchase of school uniforms and shoes in the amount of KZT 670.0 million.”

The action plan included the organization of free visits to theaters and museums for children of the region.

As part of the events, the officials from Education Administration, jointly with Police Department, will conduct raids to identify children who do not attend school without good excuse.

We call on the citizens of our region to take an active part in the campaign and provide targeted assistance in preparing children from socially vulnerable segments of the population for school.
