SUMMER SCHOOL-2022 in educational institutions of East Kazakhstan region

From May, 26 to June 17, 2022, Summer Schools were organized in educational institutions of East Kazakhstan region. They were held in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 20, 2022 No. 159 “On approval of the finishing date for the 2021-2022 school year and final assessment of students of educational institutions”.

The goal is to improve the quality of education, filling knowledge gaps and addressing shortfalls of students, including those with poor progress.

The summer school taught 1st-8th and 10th graders, and 9th graders at will. The total number of students of the region made up 50456 students. In the context of grades: the number of 1st-4th learners is 18218, the number of groups is 1854, the number of 5th-10 graders is 32238, the number of groups is 1837.

The time-table of summer school is compiled according to the Methodological Recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the educational programs are adjusted by teachers, taking into account gaps in the subject knowledge of school students. Teachers provided training on all major subjects (Kazakh language, English language, Russian language, History of Kazakhstan, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Computer Science). While teaching, they used modern educational methods, digital educational resources, gaming and ICT technologies, taking into account the age and psychological characteristics of students.

Teachers-masters and teachers-researchers are involved in the work of the Summer School. Classes were divided into groups, in total there were 3691 groups in the region, with no more than 25 learners in each group. The duration of classes in school subjects is 40 minutes, with 3-4 classes per day.

In order to promote a healthy lifestyle, physical education teachers organized outdoor sports games, psychologists, classroom teachers conducted trainings on various developing psychological topics, excursions to museums, outdoors, as well as an action to read books in the school library.
