Methodological and Practical Workshop “Debate as a modern unique educational technology”

Debate is different points of view, comparison of opinions, argumentation of one's point of view, one's thoughts by comparison.

On April 14, 2022, Secondary School No. 46 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region hosted a Regional Methodological and Practical Workshop for teachers of History of secondary schools of the region entitled “Debate as a modern unique educational technology”. It was held in accordance with the annual plan of Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region

The goal is to exchange experience, providing methodological assistance in the development of the Debate Movement and effective methodological methods for improving the functional literacy of learners through debate technologies in the educational process.

More than 100 teachers of secondary schools of East Kazakhstan region took part in the Workshop. The methodological and practical workshop consisted of 3 parts: methodological platforms, theoretical and methodological part, and debate game.

The speakers of 4 methodological platforms organized in the form of “Ayaldama”, who shared their experience were:

1) B.B. Oktyabr, a teacher of History, a teacher-moderator of Secondary School No. 42 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region on the topic “Amerikan parlamenttik formatynyn negіzgі erezhelerі men kagidalary”;

2) T.Sh. Sharipkhanov, a teacher of History, a teacher-moderator of Secondary School No. 47 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region; K. Bakytzhanuly, a teacher of History of Oralkhan Bokeyev Lyceum No. 44 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, a teacher-expert on the topic “Mektepte debat clubynyn uiymdastyryluynda kuzhattardyn rasіmdelui”;

3) K. A. Orazalin, a teacher of History of Y. Altynsarin Gymnasium No. 37 of Education Department of Semey city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, a teacher-master on “Debat technologiyasyn tarikh sabaktarynda koldanu adіstemesi”;

4) L. Mauithan, a teacher of History of Shakarim Secondary School No. 1, a teacher-researcher “Debat uіyrmesinіn bagdarlamasy”.

2. N.E. Shaizanova, Director of SAMGA Development Center, Ust-Kamenogorsk city, a coach in debates and public speaking, Master of Arts “Debattyn okushynyn damuy men tarbiyesine aseri”;
3. E.A. Asylbayev, a teacher of History of the highest category of Sadyk Tukibayev Enbek Secondary School of Education Department of Katon-Karagai district of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region on “ShZhM debate kozgalysyn damytudyn zhagdaiy, problemalary, usynystar”.

In the 3rd part of the Workshop there was a debate game “Bul palata KR orta bilim beru zhuyesinde zhazgy mektep oku kezenі retinde kabyldanuyn durys dep esepteidi”.

The organizers of the Workshop shared with the participants a link to the electronic materials of the speakers.

The Workshop was highly appreciated by the participants, who noted in the feedback the relevance and practical significance of the practices presented.
