KEEP CHILDREN OUT OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!

KEEP CHILDREN OUT OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!

Electricity brings many benefits to humanity. But it is dangerous, especially for children. If an adult already has a certain life experience and knows the elementary safety rules, then children, especially small ones, only discover this world. They are curious, active, mobile, and everything that surrounds them is learnt with all their senses. However, the human senses are not able to determine the presence of electric tension, and children do not understand its danger. Parents and we adults have to create a safe environment for their lives. In this regard, it is necessary to conduct a conversation with children aimed at preventing electrical injuries and talk about the rules of electrical safety, preventing games and staying near energy facilities. Energy facilities have warning special safety signs or appropriate posters that warn of the danger of electric shock: “Caution! Electrical voltage. Life threatening!”. It is equally important to tell children about the danger of broken electrical wires that can occur in bad weather. In order to avoid electric shock, the wires should not only be touched by hands, but even approached, “especially” if it is wet around. Broken wires must be reported immediately to the local emergency service. Electrical appliances used by children at home and at school, as well as electrical networks and substations that are located in yards and on the streets, are safe during normal operation. All electrical installations have a reliable fence, warning signs, safety posters and are locked. However, with various insulation damages, wire breaks, climbing supports, penetration into substations and electrical panels, there is a real threat to life. Children's pranks near power facilities sometimes cost lives, in most cases these are severe injuries and burns. According to the requirements of the electric power regulatory legal acts, for example, the doors of transformer substations must be locked, a warning poster must be placed on the door, and more. Accordingly, the Territorial Department of the Committee for Nuclear and Energy Supervision and Control of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan on East Kazakhstan region in order to prevent accidents, asks citizens to pay attention to safety signs near substations and overhead lines, to prevent penetration of fences and barriers of electrical installations, do not approach energized, unprotected live parts, and also asks parents to conduct explanatory conversations with children on safety topics. We adults should be the main assistants in learning the basics of safety for our child. We are obliged to teach children to anticipate dangerous situations and avoid them, and in extreme cases, be as prepared for them as possible. Remember that following these simple rules will help avoid trouble.
