A meeting with KAZ Minerals Aktogay LLP

On March 16, 2022, the Competence Center of Ust-Kamenogorsk Multidisciplinary Technological College hosted a meeting with the representatives of the largest plant in our region, KAZ Minerals Aktogay LLP.

The meeting addressed the issues of further cooperation between the enterprise and the educational institution in the direction of personnel training. The meeting was attended by Gulmira M. Iskakova – the head of TVE Department of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, Paul Gahagan - HR Director of KAZ Minerals Aktogay, KAZ Minerals Aktogay Technical Manager Gary Shortland, Head of KAZ Minerals Aktogay HR Department Abylkasymuly Bauyrzhan and the representatives of the college administration.

In the second part of the meeting, the representatives of the HR Department of the plant presented the Trainee program for college graduates and explained the social and living conditions in the industrial community. The students took an active part and asked a lot of questions.

Moreover, in the training and production workshops of the Competence Center, the speakers of KAZ Minerals Aktogay Shield Peter - Electrical Systems Design Engineer, Craig Woodman - head of the Equipment Maintenance and Repair Department, Andrey Yanshin - Mining Equipment Maintenance and Repair Instructor, Vladimir Degtyar - Head of Stationary Equipment Maintenance Services held master classes on qualifications: electricians, fitters of instrumentation and automated control systems, mechanical assembly operators, electric and gas welders and car repair mechanics.

The participants of the master classes got acquainted with new technologies that are being introduced in production, examined modern methods and techniques for performing work aimed at improving the professional level of young professionals.

Following the meeting, students who took an active part during the presentation and in the master classes were awarded cash certificates from KAZ Minerals Aktogay in the amount of KZT30,000.
