Regional workshop “On enhancing the efficiency of Socio-Psychological Units. Prevention of destructive behaviors”

On November 2, 2021, Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held a regional online workshop “On enhancing the efficiency of Socio-Psychological Units. Prevention of destructive behaviors”, according to the action plan of the fall vacation school of teachers.

The goal of the workshop is to improve the effectiveness of interaction between the subjects of the Socio-Psychological Units in order to maintain and strengthen schoolchildren’s health, preventing disabilities and behavioural disorders, protecting the rights of children and adolescents, as well as ensuring their successful socialization.

The Head of Educational Unit of Shygys RC of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region A.A. Isayev welcomed the participants of the event.

During the event, the following speakers shared their practices on how to preserve and strengthen the reproductive and mental health of adolescents, prevention of violence, early pregnancy and suicide among adolescents:

- A.Sh. Kadirova, a coordinator of the Youth Health and Development Program of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF);

- M.A. Baikonyrova, deputy headmaster for educational affairs of M. Auezov Secondary School No. 17 of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city, EA EKR;

- M.S. Shakirtova, a member of the Regional Association of Psychologists, a teacher-psychologist of Secondary School No.38 of Education Department of Semey city, EA EKR;

- Zh.E. Abilmazhinova, a chief expert in School Medicine of Mother and Child Care Center;  

- N.K. Baktybaeva, Deputy Chair of “Public Association of Youth for the Future of Kazakhstan” of Ust-Kamenogorsk city;

- S.A. Akhmetkhanova, deputy headmaster for educational affairs of Secondary School No. 2 of Education Department of Semey city, EA EKR;

The event was attended by the methodologists of District, City Education Departments responsible for educational affairs and psychological units, deputy headmasters, psychologists, social teachers, classroom teachers, medical workers and school inspectors totaling more than 100 people.

During the workshop, recommendations were drawn up for the subjects of Socio-Psychological Units of schools to maintain and strengthen learners’ health, to prevent disabilities and behavioural disorders.
