Regional workshop “Taping as an innovation of the XXI century”

On November 1, 2021, Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held an online regional workshop “Taping as an innovation of the XXI century” for heads, methodologists, psychologists and educators of preschool institutions and mini-centers of East Kazakhstan region, in accordance with the plan of activities of the fall vacation school.  

The goal of the workshop is to show speech therapists working with children with speech impairments in preschool institutions the effective methods of using the taping method in correctional work.

Speech therapists of Altyn Dan Kindergarten for Children with Disabilities of Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region Nurgul E. Bairakhmetova and Nazerke Zh. Kystaubayeva shared their experience during the workshop.

Speaker Nurgul E. Bairakhmetova stressed that in the CIS countries, the taping method began to be introduced into the speech therapy in the 2000s; this method made it possible to carry out a number of experiments and achieve results in the correction of various defects in children requiring special knowledge. After acquainting the participants of the workshop with the methods of taping, the speaker provided an overview on the possibilities of using the method for children with speech disorders and autists.  

In the final part of the workshop, during reflection, the participants expressed their proposals on organizing a course using this technique, since taping is the most important assistant to a speech therapist in corrective work.
