Results of the II regional contest “Read and Win” for school students of grades 6-8

On September, 17 and on September 24, 2021 II regional contest “Read and Win” took place as part of implementing the republican project “Reading School-Reading Nation”. It was held by Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, Daryn East Kazakhstan Scientific and Methodological Center for Gifted and Additional Education Development jointly with East Kazakhstan Regional Pushkin Library.

The main goal of the Contest is to increase the reading status, reading activity and improve the quality of reading, developing the cultural and reading competence of children, as well as cultivating high civic and spiritual-moral insights in the younger generation.

Over 200 young readers – school students of 6-8 grades of educational institutions of districts and cities of the region participated in it.

During the summer holidays, schoolchildren were offered to read a number of books of foreign literature and Kazakh authors, included in the list of recommended books of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The contest included two rounds: online testing and an essay writing.

According to the results of the quiz competition, 39 prize-winners were named, including 8 students won the 1st place, 12 students won the 2nd place, and 19 schoolchildren won the 3rd place.

On September 29, 2021 at 03.00 p.m. a Zoom meeting was organized for the winners of the Contest with the authors of the books - Kazakh children's writers Ularbek Kabdollauly, Kamshat Abіlgazykyzy.

During the event, the children had the opportunity to ask the authors of the books their questions of concern about the works.
