Methodical online workshop “Creating and developing mathematical and functional literacy among school students”

On March 11, 2021, Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held an online methodical workshop “Creating and developing mathematical and functional literacy among school students”.

The goal of the workshop is to exchange experience on forms and methods to develop mathematical and functional literacy of school students through the tasks of PISA and TIMSS.

The event was attended by 22 Chairmen of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics and 78 subject teachers of the region.  

During the workshop, teacher I.V. Ilgova shared her experience in creating and developing of students' mathematical and functional literacy with the use of adapted tasks on the topics: Quantity, Uncertainty, Space and shape, Change and correspondences.

The presented materials of the teacher's work experience are recommended for participation in the regional competition of author's programs.   

Feedback took place following the workshop. The participants noted the relevance and practical importance of the topic of the workshop and received guidelines for further use it in their practice.
