The outcomes of “Improving education quality through methods and techniques of applying critical thinking in teaching” of the methodical online platform
On February 22, 2021, Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held a methodical online platform within the framework of the work of the Atameken Association of Subjects for teachers of History of secondary schools of the region on the topic “Improving education quality through methods and techniques of applying critical thinking in teaching”.
The goal of the event is to exchange experience on the ways to enhance the quality of students' knowledge through methods and techniques of critical thinking in the context of implementing the updated content of school education, to provide methodical assistance.
The online workshop was attended by the Chair of the Atameken History Association, almost 100 subject teachers of educational institutions and specialized educational institutions of the region (with the Kazakh and Russian languages of training).
A coordinator in History of Learning Content and Education Quality Monitoring Office of Shygys RC EA EKR Bakhyt K. Abraimova noted the importance to ensure the effective use of methods and techniques of critical thinking in order to enhance the education quality while implementing the Action Plan to fill knowledge gaps of subject and general educational skills for the 2020-2021 school year.
During the online platform, the members of the Regional Association exchanged experiences: N.A. Akhmetova, a history teacher of the highest category of R. Marsekov Secondary School of Ulan district “Tarikh sabagynda syni turgyda oylaudyn tiimdіlіgі”, I.A. Golovochenko, a teacher of History of the highest category of Secondary School No.43 of Semey city “Development of intellectual abilities of school students through strategies of critical thinking”; Zh.A. Baichulakova, a teacher of History, a teacher-researcher of Kumash Nurgaliyev Gymnasium of Kurchum district “Tiimdi keri bailanys beru arkyly syn turgysynan oylau dagdylaryn kalyptastyru”, G.K. Isanova, a teacher of History of the highest category of Ybyray Altynsarin Secondary School No. 39 of Ust-Kamenogorsk city “Development of critical thinking as a way to enhance the education quality.
The speakers and participants exchanged their insights on methods and techniques to enhance the knowledge quality and fill knowledge gaps.
Following the workshop, giving feedback, the participants expressed their opinion, noting that the event was held at a high level.
