Methodical online workshop on “Increasing motivation in Mathematics classes when working with low achievers using digital learning resources”

On January 22, 2021, Shygys Regional Center of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held an online methodical workshop on “Increasing motivation in Mathematics classes when working with low achievers using digital learning resources”.

The goal of the workshop is to exchange practices, to share advanced pedagogical experience of the teacher of Mathematics L. Semenyuk as well as to create an electronic databank of pedagogical proposals.

The event was attended by 22 Chairmen of Maths Teachers Association of the region.  

During the workshop, teacher L. Semenyuk shared her experience of working with children with special educational needs using adapted digital educational resources such as: mental arithmetic (presentation / didactic material); tests (presentation / paper version / software package MyTestX / google-forms); mathematical dictations; training presentations (e-manuals on topics, projects on combinatory); laboratory / practical work (in Geometry classes); programs for plotting function graphs (including own proposals); computer trainers; reference charts, training cards; logical tasks / puzzles; solved problems on drawings; flip charts; exercises (oral problems in Geometry); video clips (info-lesson, etc.).

The presented materials from the teacher's work experience are recommended to apply for the republican competition.

The workshop was followed by some feedback. The participants stressed the relevance and practical importance of the topic of L.A. Semenyuk and received guidelines for further use in their practice.
