Master class on reading literacy development: experience and practical approaches

On December 11, 2025, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region organized a fruitful and highly informative master class for teachers of East Kazakhstan region via Zoom.

The speaker of the master class was Ainar A. Dolanbayeva - an expert teacher of the Russian language and literature of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of Ust-Kamenogorsk city. Ainar A. Dolanbayeva is a developer of educational and methodological materials and assessment tasks for competitive selection processes, as well as a certified trainer on the updated content of education in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Her wide professional experience made it possible to hold the event at a high level.   

The topic of the master class - “Developing schoolchildren’s reading literacy: strategies, methods and practical approaches” - proved to be relevant in the context of modern educational requirements. The participants discussed the key strategies and practical tools aimed at systematic development of students’ ability to comprehend, interpret and critically evaluate texts of various structures and levels of complexity.

During the meeting, the speaker demonstrated effective methods of working with texts, including active reading techniques, analysis of text structure, development of inference-making skills based on the text and evaluation of textual content. Special attention was paid to practical approaches: participants reviewed examples of tasks, exercises and lessons that can be immediately implemented in classroom practice.

The master class was held in an interactive format: teachers actively asked questions, shared their experiences and discussed proposed strategies. Such events contribute significantly to the professional growth of teachers and improve the quality of education in the region.
