Career guidance in action: career try-outs and excursions within the One School One Skill Project

As part of ongoing career guidance initiatives and the implementation of the Roadmap of East Kazakhstan region, 38 schools with specialized classes hosted the One School One Skill event, aimed at introducing students to skilled trades.

As part of the project, schoolchildren participated in career try-outs, where each student could assume the role of a specialist in a particular field. Under the guidance of mentors and representatives from local enterprises, students engaged in hands-on tasks, explored various occupational assignments. Along with this, the teenagers visited local organizations and production sites, where they got acquainted with work processes, equipment, professional requirements for future specialists, and also had the opportunity to interact directly with experts and ask questions about their work. Such initiatives helped students recognize the practical relevance of professional skills and understand the specifics of their chosen professions.

The practice-oriented format of the event enables students to appreciate the value of vocational competencies, assess their own interests, and take another meaningful step toward making an informed choice of a future profession.
