Results of the regional round of the Republican Intellectual Competition of Young Historians “My small Homeland”
On October 14, 2022, Daryn Scientific and Methodological Center for Gifted and Additional Education Development held the regional round of the Republican intellectual competition for young historians “My small Homeland” among school students of grades 9-10, in accordance with the action plan of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region.
The key goal of the Competition is to identify talented school students who show interest in the history of their native country, their creative abilities, to shape social activity and develop a sense of Kazakhstan patriotism and citizenship among the younger generation, as well as to develop students' knowledge of local history and the history of Kazakhstan, national self-identification and pride in their small home.
More than 120 school students of grades 9-10 took part in the Competition - those who won the intra-school and district/city rounds of the competition, showing interest in historical studies, preserving the spiritual and cultural values of their native land.
The Competition included 2 rounds:
Round 1 - Kazakhstan history testing.
Round 2 was held in 4 nominations:
1) video report “History of my small Homeland”;
2) video “Symbol of the small Homeland”;
3) presentation of creative projects (layouts) on the topic: “The future of my small Homeland”;
4) writing an essay about your locality “My Native Land”.
The works of the participants were evaluated by the jury members - scientists from the universities of the region.
As a result of the Competition, 63 students became prize-winners. 15 students were awarded First Degree Diplomas, 17 students were awarded Second Degree Diplomas, 31 students were awarded Third Degree Diplomas. 4 winners with the highest score will take part in the Republican round.
