Regional Methodological Seminar for English Teachers

On October 30, 2025, as part of the autumn vacation school program, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held a regional methodological seminar for English teachers of Ust-Kamenogorsk city, Ulan and Glubokoe districts. The event took place at Sh. Ualikhanov School Lyceum No. 3 of Ust-Kamenogorsk city.

The event was organized jointly with Macmillan Education and focused on the topic “Innovative Approaches in Teaching: Storytelling as a Tool of Improving Speaking Skills.”

About 80 English teachers participated in the seminar. The speaker was Marina V. Kibatbayeva, who presented modern techniques and practical tools for integrating storytelling into the process of teaching English.

The participants explored effective methods of developing students’ speaking skills through interactive tasks, creative retellings and creating their own stories. 

The participants noted the high professional level of the speaker, the relevance of the topic and the practical value of the presented material. Such events contribute to enhancing teachers’ professional skills and promoting innovative approaches to foreign language teaching.

Following the seminar, the participants received certificates and methodological resources of Macmillan Education.
