Exploring our native land: a trip to the Medvedovka forestry

The participants of the Host Family Project made an educational tour to the Medvedovka forestry. The children were warmly welcomed by forestry professionals, who explained their work, showcased the specifics of the forest management and answered the children’s numerous questions.

One of the highlights was a horse ride - the children learned about the harnesses and got the opportunity to ride, which sparked real excitement and left a lot of positive emotions.

The educational trip also included an excursion to the Bayan Pantomedicine modern health-improving complex, located in the picturesque Katon-Karagai district. The complex specializes in health treatments using antlers (deer horns), herbal medicine and kymyz (fermented mare’s milk). The participants learned about unique natural healing methods, saw the animals which provide therapeutic raw materials, and received detailed information about the medicinal properties of antler products.

The event provided the children with new knowledge, vivid impressions and, undoubtedly, they would remember it as one of the most engaging and inspiring days of the project so far.
