One of the most effective ways for teenagers to explore the world of professions is summer career guidance camps.
In East Kazakhstan region, colleges have successfully run these camps for 5 years for schoolchildren as part of early career guidance initiatives.
From June 9th to 20th, 2025, ten summer career guidance camps were operating in the region, engaging 500 schoolchildren. These camps were based at Ust-Kamenogorsk Higher Polytechnic College, Higher College of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, Agricultural College of Altai district, Samar Agricultural and Technical College, Altai Higher College (Medicine and Tourism), Technological College of Altai town, Ridder College, School-Boarding School-College of Markakol settlement, Serebryansk Technological College.
The camps gave school students the chance to explore a wide range of professions. They took part in engaging workshops, where they assembled and programmed robots, explored mechatronics, practiced cooking skills, developed tourism-related skills, and much more. Also, the programs of camps included entertainment events: cinema, rides, and sports relay races, taking into account the age characteristics.
The organizers received positive feedback from schoolchildren for providing an active, intellectual and emotionally enriching summer vacation.
