Law and order as the basis of education

On May 20, 2025, representatives of East Kazakhstan Regional Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Education Administration of the region met with parents of students at the Regional Specialized IT-School-Lyceum. The event took place as part of promoting the narrative of the Law and Order in society, as well as ensuring compliance with anti-corruption legislation and educational regulations.

The meeting was held just before the end of the school year and aimed to discuss pressing issues related to the prevention of illegal collection of funds in educational organizations.

During the meeting, Gulnur Bekbayeva, a senior officer of the Anti-Corruption Service of East Kazakhstan region, explained to parents the legal responsibility for giving gifts and other material benefits to the administration and staff of educational organizations. It was emphasized that such actions may be qualified as corruption offenses.

The discussion also covered the ban on collecting money from students, parents, and teachers - regardless of goals and reasons. Representatives of the Anti-Corruption Service reminded the participants that any form of fundraising in schools is unacceptable and violates current legislation.

During the meeting, Education Administration placed special emphasis on implementing anti-corruption projects among young people aimed at fostering a culture of integrity, academic honesty and fairness among students. Parents were also informed of on-going initiatives engaging schoolchildren in socially significant activities aimed at strengthening moral values and developing civic responsibility.

Holding such meetings not only keeps parents informed about the importance of complying with the law, but also helps cultivate an atmosphere of transparency, trust and fairness within the education system.
