Carbon monoxide is life-threatening! Every year, the terrible statistics of deaths and injuries are updated with cases when people are poisoned by carbon monoxide, most often due to violations of fire safety rules during the operation of stove heating. On September 16, such a case occurred in the village of Turgusun in the Altai region. A man and a middle-aged woman about 20.00 hours, flooded the stove with coal in a private residential building, and without checking whether the fuel burned, closed the valve of the chimney. And already in the dead of night the woman felt bad: nausea, dizziness, and went out on the veranda of the house, lost consciousness. Fortunately, the woman regained consciousness after a while and called an ambulance. Together with the man, they were taken to a hospital in the Altai region with signs of carbon monoxide poisoning. The causes of carbon monoxide poisoning can be: violation of fire safety rules during the operation of the furnace heating (closing the furnace gate, insufficient air access to the fuel tank, poor traction), cracks in the furnace structure, clogged chimney, finding a person in the center of a fire, maintenance in a room with poor ventilation, sleeping in a car with the engine running, etc. Uchs of the Altai region calls on citizens to comply with fire safety rules during the heating period!
