On the territory of the district there are many different reservoirs, where in winter every day, especially on weekends, residents rush to winter fishing. This activity is very exciting and healthy. However, winter fishing often involves a risk to the lives of people who set foot on the ice in the hope of catching a big fish and forget about safety.
As the sad statistics show, the number of victims in the reservoirs of the district continues to grow every year. Therefore, you must follow the safety rules when you are on the ice.
There aren't many of them. All of them are based on many years of experience. And their importance is so great that for neglecting them, sometimes you have to pay with your health, or even your life itself. Therefore, the emergency Management Department of the Altai region resembles the rules of behavior on ice:
- On thin, fragile ice can not come out. If you accidentally hit the thin ice, step back with sliding, careful steps, without taking your feet off the ice.
- Strong, safe ice is transparent ice with a thickness of at least 4-5 cm. Milky white ice is twice as weak as transparent ice. The most dangerous - porous ice, formed from frozen snow.
- The ice is always weaker near the drift wood, piles of cane and on the course.
- in the thaw after the first frost, the ice becomes thin. Especially dangerous is thin ice dusted with snow.
- over large depths, ice is formed later and therefore it is less durable, and therefore dangerous when it is reliable enough around at medium depths.
- At the mouths of rivers and streams ice is often unreliable during the winter.
- Do not go out on the weak ice alone, but two or three. However, you can't go all together. The best distance is 2-3 m from each other. On the last ice, you should not walk in single file. Where one passes, the second may fail.
- Going out on the ice, examine (feel) it in front of you on foot. Ice that breaks through on foot with a single blow is dangerous.
- When walking on loose ice, keep the box on one strap in case of need, so it is easier to get rid of it.
- Don't gather on thin ice in groups.
- If there is an urgent need to cross a dangerous place on the ice, tie a cord around your waist, leaving a freely dragging end, near which a friend should be. Cross a dangerous place with a large pole, holding it across the body.
- If the ice suddenly begins to crack, keep calm, do not panic, quickly, but at the same time carefully lie down on the ice and crawl to a safe place.
- If there is a disaster and you are in the water, do not try to get out on the ice only with your hands, do not pull yourself up over the edge of the ice. Holding on to it with your hands, you must carefully take out on the ice first one, then the second leg, then, slowly, and just as carefully crawl away (roll away) from the dangerous place.
- Helping a friend who has fallen through the ice, who did not have a cord, give him a belt, scarf, stick, ice drill handle, etc.they can be grasped more tightly than an outstretched hand.
- After snowstorms, beware of not frozen holes under the snow.
- Do not stand on ice floes that have broken off from the ice field: they may suddenly turn over under your feet.
- Without knowing the features of the reservoir or the conditions of ice formation, do not try to go out on the ice in a car.
In addition to knowledge of the rules of behavior on the ice, you also need composure, self-control, and most importantly - caution.
