Requirements for the operation of oxygen cylinders

Due to the growth of CVI in the East Kazakhstan region, people use oxygen cylinders for medical purposes in medical, health-improving institutions and in everyday life. Oxygen cylinders are containers made of seamless steel pipe for transporting and storing oxygen. The capacity of the cylinders varies from 1 to 50 liters. The pressure can be 150-200 kgf / cm2. Uchs of the Altai region reminds that despite the fact that this substance surrounds a person everywhere and is not dangerous in itself, it can pose a threat under pressure in a balloon, so safety measures should be observed when using it. For example, in the city clinical hospital No. 2 in Chelyabinsk, Russia, on October 31 this year, an explosion of oxygen cylinders occurred. The cause of the explosion was a fire that occurred in the premises attached to the building of the clinic. According to the above, the following requirements must be met:

  1. it is Not allowed to use rubber and plastic hoses to supply oxygen from cylinders to hospital wards;
  2. joint storage of cylinders with oxygen and combustible gas, as well as storage of these cylinders in material and pharmacy warehouses is Not allowed;
  3. it is Not allowed to store liquid oxygen in the same room with flammable substances, fats and oils;
  4. operation of non-fat oxygen equipment is Not allowed;
  5. it is Not allowed to store it in rooms where transit electric cables pass through, as well as in rooms with gas communications and oil-filled equipment. Be vigilant, remember these requirements, and take care of your health.
