Migration processes in the Altay region
As a result of migration exchange, according to data for January-November 2024, 2,199 people left the district, 1,621 people arrived in the district. Compared with January-November 2023, the number of people arriving in the Altai district increased by 29.2%, and the number of people leaving by 26.7%. 209 people arrived from other regions of the republic against 231 people in the same period last year.
The largest outflow from the district was to other districts of the region (1,551 people, or 70.53% of the total). In January-November 2023, 1,236 people, or 71.24%, respectively, left. 177 people left for neighboring countries (8% of the total departures), for the corresponding period, 208 people, or 11.98%, respectively.
As a result of external and internal migration in January-November 2024, there was a decrease of 578 people against 480 people in January-November 2023.
