The population of the village tends to decrease annually, so as of January 1, 2023, the population decreased by 167 people compared to 2019. In view of the fact that the outflow of the population is the working population, the reduction is reflected in the self-employed sector.

The dynamics of the birth rate does not exceed the natural population decline.

The decline in the population is mainly due to the migration outflow of the population, the causes of which are the lack of work, low cash incomes and, as a result, the departure of young people for education and in search of promising work, as well as the relocation of people of retirement age to urban areas in comfortable apartments.

Agriculture

The presence of rich and fertile lands creates conditions for the growth of the economy of the rural district. The basic branch of the economy is agricultural production. Its development to a decisive extent determines the level of food security and the socio-economic situation in the rural district.

Large agricultural enterprises are located and operate on the territory of the village: Nikolsk-1 LLP, Borodino LLP and 11 farms.

The dynamics of development in the real sector is due to an increase in the number of livestock, as well as an increase in agricultural production. The increase in the number of cattle occurred in 2019 due to the reconstruction of the dairy farm in the Borodino peasant farm by 400 milking heads and calves, as well as the development of animal husbandry in LLP Nikolsk-1.

The measures taken to financially support this industry and to procure the necessary volumes of rough and succulent fodder contributed to the increase in livestock production.

There is a tendency to increase the livestock of farm animals in private backyards due to the sufficient supply of feed, as well as free agricultural land.
