It is planned to increase the share of elite seeds of agricultural crops in the region

Seed production is a branch allocated in agriculture, on an industrial scale engaged in the reproduction of seeds while preserving qualities such as yield and purity.
According to the Roadmap of the Head of State for 2024-2028, it is planned to increase the share of elite seeds of agricultural crops to 12.9% this year.
There are 17 seed farms in the region, of which 6 have the status of elite seed farms (LLP "East Kazakhstan Agricultural Experimental station", LLP "Experimental farm of oilseeds", LLP "Seeds of oilseeds", LLP "KH Bagration VVG", LLP "Mileyko", LLP "Bystrukha-Astana", ), as well as 3 have the status of the originator
(East Kazakhstan Agricultural Experimental Station LLP,
LLP "Experimental farm of oilseeds", LLP "Seeds of oilseeds").
The seed farms of the region annually produce about
20 thousand tons of seeds.
The leading enterprises for the production of domestic seeds in the region are LLP "East Kazakhstan Agricultural Experimental Station" and LLP "Experimental farm of oilseeds".
The breeding achievements of the region in recent years are sunflower varieties "Narym", "Baiterek S", "Altyn 7", soybeans – "Otan plus",
"Nur plus", "Birlik KV", spring wheat "Oskemen".
Also, breeding achievements have been achieved in the production of sunflower varieties "Patriot" with a yield of up to 35 c/ha, varieties "Dostyk" with a yield of up to 30-35 c/ha, winter soft wheat varieties "Nur-38" with a yield of up to 70 c/ha, etc.
