The press service of JSC SEC Ertis, which is the operator of the price stabilization program, reported that the price of potatoes and carrots is 120 tg/kg, onions - 110 tg/kg, cabbage – 100 tg/kg.

The stable fund's products are sold from November to May at the request of retail outlets. There are 65 of them in total. To meet the needs of the population during a period of high demand (stock-clearing) trade, which is quite logical, submits increased applications for fruit and vegetable products.

For these purposes, as well as to ensure stable prices during the off–season, JSC SEC Ertis has contracted the necessary 9,850 tons of products, including potatoes - 5,500 tons, carrots – 1,550 tons, onions – 1,400 tons, cabbage – 1,400 tons. This makes it possible to prevent significant price fluctuations for demanded fruit and vegetable products.

The remainder of the contracted volumes as of the current date is: potatoes – 2,655 tons, carrots – 656 tons, onions – 592 tons, cabbage – 445 tons. How the measures taken affect the pricing policy prevailing in the consumer market can be judged by the following figures.

According to the Bureau of National Statistics, the average price of potatoes in February 2023 was 148 tenge/kg, whereas in February 2024 the average price was 141 tenge/kg. A similar situation is developing for onions, the average cost of which in February 2023 was 171 tenge / kg, and in February 2024 – 121 tenge / kg.
