Today, the mayor's office of Uralsk held a meeting on ensuring the safety of children.
- President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his message to the people of Kazakhstan "Kazakhstan in a new situation: time to act" noted that "special attention should be paid to the safety of children and the protection of children's rights". A road safety plan was approved in March.
The school year has started and now many students go to school. In autumn, it gets dark early, in this regard, in order to ensure the safety of children, a number of events have been organized in accordance with the instructions of the regional akim, - said the mayor of the city Abat Shynybekov, who opened the meeting.
The meeting heard reports on the safety of students on the city streets, lighting roads and sidewalks, installing road signs and Parking lots, and patrolling streets.
- 80% of schools are located at intersections, only 10% - in residential areas. The road network around educational institutions requires special attention. As a result of the work done, I would like to focus on the following problems: lack of lighting on the streets where more than 10 schools of the city are located (SOSH №1, 7, 9, 12, 17, 19, 20, 28, 35, 39, 40, 43 ), - Deputy mayor of Uralsk Bakytzhan Narymbetov said.
The shortcomings identified in the analysis of the work are often related to the inability of school leaders to respond in a timely manner to the formulation and identification of problems to the relevant responsible organizations and stakeholders. As a result, more than 60% of the territories of educational institutions were illuminated only through the main entrance, while the rest remained dark. In addition, the lack of Parking in city schools is one of the most common problems, - said the head of the city Department of housing and utilities and highways Zhandos Duysengaliev.
For road safety in the city from April this year to the present, 10 and 12 additional traffic lights have been installed, 49 artificial levels of highways (38 highways, 11 roadside social facilities), 27 streets have been marked (2 have been redone) and 305 sidewalks have been painted with cold plastic. The next item on the agenda was the prevention of domestic violence against children and juvenile delinquency.
140 video cameras are installed to ensure regular round-the-clock monitoring of public order.
According to Yerbol Koshekov, head of the internal policy Department of Uralsk, infographics and posters were developed and distributed on social networks in order to ensure the safety of children and their parents.
Akim of the city Abat Shynybekov also instructed the Department of education to develop a plan for additional classes and the launch of school buses in order to explain road safety to students.
It should be noted that lighting in all city schools will be completed before October 15.
- At the moment, we focus on the safety of children. To do this, it is necessary to speed up the work, - said the mayor of the city.
