Workshop on functional literacy with the participation of specialists of AEO "Center of Pedagogical Excellence"

From February 23 to 24, a workshop was held at the KSU "Gerasimovskaya Secondary School" with the participation of specialists of the AOO "Center for Pedagogical Excellence". The seminar was attended by teachers of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and geography of the district, who improved their knowledge of functional literacy. At the end of the seminar, all participants were awarded certificates.

The PISA study evaluates three areas of functional literacy: reading literacy, mathematical literacy, and science literacy. The study is conducted once every three years. Each study evaluates functional literacy in only one of the three areas. The renewal of education forms students not only knowledge, but also skills of their application, in particular functional literacy. Forms students' skills of using knowledge for self-education, analysis, design, comprehensive self-expression in public life and benefits society.

Functional literacy is the social orientation of education towards the formation of personality. In today's rapidly changing world, functional literacy is a basic factor contributing to the active participation of students in socio-cultural, political and economic activities, as well as lifelong education.
