Information about ticket price increases

Starting from March 5, this year, the planned increase in the cost of transporting passengers by rail on socially important inter-regional communications is envisaged.

         The increase in tariffs is stipulated by Contractual obligations under the contract for long-term subsidizing of carriers ' expenses.

Due to the increase in basic rates for passenger transportation, the increase in fares will be 7%.

         It should be noted that passenger traffic on socially significant messages is unprofitable and subsidized from the state budget.

In the conditions of updating the car fleet and the costs of repair and maintenance, the increase in tariffs is necessary to cover expenses that are not covered by the budget.

         The main positive effect of the increase in prices for passenger transportation is to encourage carriers to improve the quality of transportation by updating the fleet of cars.

         It should be noted that in 2019, the carrier purchased 109 passenger cars, which are aimed at updating the composition of trains in the directions Mangystau – Almaty", "Nur-Sultan-Atyrau", "Nur-Sultan – Saryagash", "Almaty – Atyrau", "Mangystau – Almaty", "Nur-Sultan – Saryagash".

         The carrier also plans to upgrade about 600 cars under the Nurly Zhol program until 2025.
