Demographic situation for January-June 2020

The population of the country as of July 1, 2020 amounted to 18760.2 thousand people, including urban –
11040.2 thousand people (58.8%), rural –7720thousand people (41.2%).

Compared to July 1, 2019, the population increased by 252.3 thousand people or 1.4%. During the period under review, the greatest overall increase was observed in the 3regionsof the country: Almaty city (66.4 thousand people), Nur-Sultan city (54.7 thousand people)and Turkistan region (34 thousand people).
