Wages in IV quarter of 2023

The average value of nominal wages in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the IV quarter of 2023 amounted to 393605 tenge. The growth by the corresponding quarter of 2022 was 16.2%, in real terms, the increase – by 5.3%. The median value of wages (the central level of the salary range) was estimated in the II quarter of 2023, amounted to 259463 tenge.

Compared to the corresponding quarter of 2022 the largest increase in average monthly wages was recorded – in financial and insurance activities– 29.7%, in information and communication – 23.2%, in arts, entertainment and recreation – 20.8%,. The growth of the average monthly wage in education was 18.6%, in health and social services – 18.2%.

Regionally, the largest growth was recorded in the Ulytau region – 23.5%, the smallest growth was recorded in Atyrau region – 6.4%.

The ratio between the maximum and minimum values of the average monthly nominal salary among the regions in the IV quarter of 2023 was 2.1 times.
