DEMOGRAPHIC SITUATION FOR JANUARY-MARCH 2019

The population of the country as of April 1, 2019 amounted to 18448,6 thousand people, including urban – 10734,2 thousand people (58,2%), rural – 7714,4 thousand people (41,8%).

 

 

Compared to April 1, 2018, the population increased by 235,8 thousand people or 1.3%. During the period under review, the greatest overall increase was observed in the cities of national importance: Shymkent city (52,7 thousand people), Nur-Sultan city (50,3 thousand people) and Almaty city (49,9 thousand people).
