Wages in IV quarter of 2021*

In the IV quarter 2021 the average monthly nominal wage per employee was 275580 tenge. The index of nominal wages to the corresponding quarter of 2020 year was 118.2%, in real term – 108.7%.

In the sectoral segment, the highest nominal wages are marked in Mining industry and the development of quarries – 546.4 thousand tenge (2 times higher than the average national level), in Financial and insurance activities – 520.7 thousand tenge (1.9 times), in the area of Professional, scientific and technical activities – 442 thousand tenge (in 1.6 times), in the area Information and communication – 370.1 thousand tenge (in 1.3 times). The lowest level of nominal wage is noted in agriculture, forestry and fishing – 167.3 thousand tenge and water supply; sewerage system, control over the collection and distribution of waste – 169.1 thousand tenge.

In the regional context, the highest nominal wage was in the Atyrau – 420.4 thousand tenge, which is 1.5 times higher than the national average. In the Soltustik Kazakhstan region, its value was 203 thousand tenge, which is 26.3% lower than the national average.

Note: In accordance with international standards, the average monthly nominal wage per employee is based on additional payments, allowances, premiums, and taxes and other deductions (income tax, mandatory pension contributions, contributions for mandatory social health insurance).
