The short-term economic indicator in January-December 2021 compared with January-December 2020 was 104.5% Calculation of the short-term economic indicator is implemented to ensure efficiency and is based on the change in output indexes for basic sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communications, constituting over 60% of GDP.
The volume of investment in fixed assets in January-December 2021 was 13221.4 billion tenge, which is 35% more than in 2020
Industrial output in January-December 2021 was 37047.6 billion tenge, which is 3.8% more than in 2020. The increase was in the mining and quarrying (by 1.7%), manufacturing industry (by 5.5%), electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air-conditioned (by 4.8%), water supply, collection, processing and disposal of waste, industrial pollution elimination activities (by 9.5%).
The volume of gross output (services) of agricultural, foresty and fisheries in January-December 2021 was 7376.6 billion tenge, which is 2.4% less than in 2020
The volume of the construction works (services) in January-December 2021 was 5495.2 billion tenge, which is 7.6% more than in 2020.
In «Transport and warehousing» sector the volume index in January-December 2021 was 1036%.
The volume of freight turnover in January-December 2021 amounted to 5972 billion ton-kilometers (given the estimation of the volume of turnover of individual entrepreneurs in volved in commercial transportation), which increased by 1.4% than in January-December 2020. The volume of passenger turnover was 106.8 billion passenger-kilometers and decreased by 1.4%.
In «Communication» sector the volume index in January-December 2021 was 112.9%.
In «Trade» sector the volume index in January-December 2021 was 109.2%.
The volume of retail trade in January-December 2021 was 13363.7 billion tenge or 106.5% as compared to January-December 2020 (in the comparable prices).
The volume of wholesale trade in January-December 2021 was 288358 billion tenge or 1105% as compared to January-December 2020 (in the comparable prices).
The foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan in January-November 2021 was 91375.4 million US dollars and compared to January-November 2020 it increased by 154% (in nominal terms), including export – 545495 million US dollars (2.4% more, in nominal terms), imports – 36825.9 million US dollars (42% more, in nominal terms).
The number of registered legal entities as of January 1, 2022 was 481732 units and compared with the corresponding period of the previous year increased by 4.3%, including 472777 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating entities was 352848, including 344130 small businesses (less than100 employees)
The consumer price index in December 2021 compared to December 2020 was 108.4%. The food prices have increased by 99%, non-food – by 85%, paid services – by 6.5%. Prices of industrial products in December 2021 compared to December 2020 has increased by 46.1%.
Social sector
Per capita nominal income of the population estimated in November 2021 was 131978 tenge (preliminary data) which is 4.2% higher compared to November 2020, the real monetary income in November 2021 decreased by 41%.
Average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (estimated) in December 2021 was 268051 tenge
The number of unemployed people estimated in December 2021 was 449.9 thousand people. The unemployment rate was 4.9% of the labor force. Number of persons registered with employment offices as unemployed at the end of December 2021 was 979 thousand people or 1.1% of the labor force
