About income and expenditure differentiation of population in the Republic of Kazakhstan in III quarter of 2021
According to the results of a sample survey of households, the share of the population with incomes below the subsistence minimum (poverty level), in the III quarter of 2021 was 5.3%, that is by 0.4 percentage points lower than in the corresponding period of 2020.
The highest poverty level in the III quarter of 2021 was registered in Turkestan (9.5%), Mangystau (8.1%) regions and Shymkent (5.8%) city, and the lowest level was in Karaganda, Kostanai (3.4% each) regions .
Household expenditures by decile distribution show significant differentiation.Thus, in the III quarter of 2021, the difference in spending on food products between 10% of bottom (poorest) and 10% of top (wealthiest) population was 4.7 times, for non – food products – 7.9 times, and for paid services–6.1 times.
