The short-term economic indicator in January-October 2021compared with January-October 2020 was 103.9%Calculation of the short-term economic indicator is implemented to ensure efficiency and is based on the change in output indexes for basic sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communications, constituting over 60% of GDP.

The volume of investment in fixed assets in January-October 2021was9967.8billion tenge, which is 2.5% more than in January-October 2020

Industrial output in January-October 2021 was 29509.2 billion tenge, which is 2.9% more than in January-October 2020. The increase was in the mining and quarrying by 0.1%, manufacturing industry - by 5.3%, electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air-conditioned - by 6.2%, water supply, collection, processing and disposal of waste, industrial pollution elimination activities - by 8.5%.

The volume of gross output (services) of agricultural, foresty and fisheries in January-October 2021was6432billion tenge, which is 2.3% less than in January-October 2020

The volume of the construction works (services) in January-October 2021 was 4092.1 billion tenge, which is 7.6% more than in January-October 2020.

In «Transport and warehousing» sector the volume index in January-October 2021 was 102.2%.

The volume of freight turnover in January-October 2021 amounted to 482.8billion ton-kilometers (given the estimation of the volume of turnover of individual entrepreneurs in volved in commercial transportation), which increased by 0.6% in January-October 2020. The volume of passenger turnover was 833billion passenger-kilometers and decreased by 14.1%.

In «Communication» sector the volume index in January-October 2021 was 112.9%.

In «Trade» sector the volume index in January-October 2021 was 109.5%.

The volume of retail trade in January-October 2021 was 104138billion tenge or 106.1% as compared to January-October 2020 (in the comparable prices).

The volume of wholesale trade in January-October 2021 was 22354.1billion tenge or 111.1% as compared to January-October 2020 (in the comparable prices).

The foreign tradeturnover of Kazakhstan in January-September 2021was727674million US dollarsandcompared to January-September 2020 it increased by12.7% (in nominal terms), including export – 43299.4millionUS dollars (20.6% more, in nominal terms), imports – 29468 millionUS dollars(2.8% more, in nominal terms).

The number of registered legal entities as of November 1, 2021 was 479987 units and compared with the corresponding period of the previous year increased by 4.1%, including 471051 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating entities was 348952, including 340256 small businesses (less than100 employees)

The consumer price index in October 2021 compared to December 2020 was 107%. The food prices have increased by 8.2%, non-food – by 6.8%, paid services – by 5.6%. Prices of industrial products in October 2021 compared to December 2020 has increased by 37.5%.

Social sector

Per capita nominal income of the population estimated in September 2021 was 130600 tenge (preliminary data) which is 15.4% higher compared to September 2020, the real monetary income in September 2021 increased by 6%.

Average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (estimated) in October 2021 was 245715 tenge

The number of unemployed people estimated in October 2021 was 450.7 thousand people. The unemployment rate was 4.9% of the labor force. Number of persons registered with employment offices as unemployed at the end of October 2021 was 193.5thousand people or 2.1% of the labor force
