Wages in III quarter of 2021*

In the III quarter 2021 the average monthly nominal wage per employee was 243 667 tenge. The index of nominal wages to the corresponding quarter of 2020 year was 119.3%, in real term–109.8%.

In the sectoral segment, the highest nominal wages are marked in Mining industry and the development of quarries– 501.0 thousand tenge (2.1 times higher than the average national level), in Financial and insurance activities – 452.8 thousand tenge (1.9 times), in the area of Professional, scientific and technical activities – 369.5 thousand tenge (in 1.5 times), in the area Information and communication – 331.1 thousand tenge (in 1.4 times). The lowest level of nominal wage is noted in water supply; sewerage system, waste collection and distribution control– 154.9 thousand tenge and agriculture, forestry and fishing – 167.5 thousand tenge.

In the regional context, the highest nominal wage was in the Atyrau region – 419.1 thousand tenge, which is 1.7 times higher than the national average. In the Turkistan, its value was 181.1 thousand tenge, which is 25.7% lower than the national average.

Note. In accordance with international standards, the average monthly nominal wage per employee is based on additional payments, allowances, premiums, and taxes and other deductions (income tax, mandatory pension contributions, contributions for mandatory social health insurance).
