DEMOGRAPHIC SITUATION FOR JANUARY-APRIL 2019

The population of the country as of May 1, 2019 amounted to 18468,9 thousand people, including urban – 10751,4 thousand people (58,2%), rural – 7717,5 thousand people (41,8%).

 

 

Compared to May 1, 2018, the population increased by 236,9 thousand people or 1.3%. During the period under review, the greatest overall increase was observed in the 4 regions of the country: Nur-Sultan city (52,8 thousand people), Almaty city (50,3 thousand people), Turkistan region (31,1 thousand people) and Shymkent city (30,1 thousand people).
