ON THE ENERGY VALUE OF FOOD CONSUMED BY THE POPULATION IN 2018
According to a sample survey of households, in 2018 the level of food deprivation or the proportion of the population, caloric intake of which is below the minimum level amounted to 4,6%.

The energy value of food consumed by the population in 2018 on average per person per day totaled 3184 kcal. It should be noted that the nutrition in the population in rural areas is more caloric than in urban.

Considering regional consumption, it should be noted that in all regions of the country the level of the actual energy value of food consumed by the population exceeds the level of minimum energy value needs. The highest level of energy value of consumed food is in the Shymkent city and in the East Kazakhstan region, and the lowest ─ in city of Nur-Sultan.
If one considers the chemical composition of food consumed by the population, then it can be noted that the largest proportion is carbohydrates. Proportion of carbohydrates (bread and cereal products) in the diet of the rural population is higher than in the urban area. The proportion of food products rich with fat and proteins (meat and meat products, milk products and eggs) is higher for urban residents than for rural ones.
