About the harvest of agricultural crops in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020

In 2020, the specified sown area of agricultural crops in the republic as a whole was 22 582,3 thousand hectares, which is 2% more than in 2019, of which the area of cereals (including rice) and legumes was 15 878, 4 thousand hectares, which is more by 3,1%, oilseeds – 2 905,1 thousand hectares and 1,5%, open ground vegetables – 163,6 thousand hectares and 2,8%, potatoes – 194,4 thousand hectares and 0,7%.

In 2020, the gross harvest of cereals (including rice) and legumes in weight after completion increased by 15,1% compared to 2019 and amounted to 20 065,3 thousand tons, open ground vegetables – by 4,9% and 4 340, 7 thousand tons respectively, melons - by 1,8% and 2 425,1 thousand tons, potatoes – by 2,4% and 4 006, 8 thousand tons. At the same time, the gross harvest of oilseeds decreased by 1, 1% and amounted to 2 556, 5 thousand tons.

Compared to the level of 2019, the yield of cereals (including rice) and legumes in weight after refinement increased by 12, 3% and amounted to 12,8 quintals/ ha. The year turned out to be more productive for open ground vegetables (yield growth by 2, 1%), melons (by 1, 8%), potatoes (by 1, 6%).
